Biography

Ms. Murphy has successfully represented a diverse group of clients at trial, arbitration and on appeal.  Her clients include manufacturers, energy and engineering companies, contractors, private utility companies, restaurants, hotels, amusement parks and healthcare facilities.

Ms. Murphy defends against personal injury and property damage claims involving premises liability, products liability, general negligence, and professional and medical malpractice.  She has commercial litigation experience in many areas of industry, including energy, private utilities, construction, civil and chemical engineering, power generation, hotel and restaurant management, and healthcare.  Ms. Murphy has a proven ability to navigate complex commercial disputes involving multiple parties, claims and legal issues.  She routinely litigates claims for breach of contract, indemnity, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secret misappropriation, conversion, tortious interference with contracts/business relationships, and other business related torts.

Ms. Murphy also practices labor and employment law, assisting employers in their efforts to minimize the risk of litigation, and effect the greatest chance of success in defending against legal action.  She has handled cases involving allegations of age and racial discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation.  Ms. Murphy assists employers from the start of an EEOC investigation, and if necessary, through the conclusion of subsequent litigation.  Ms. Murphy handles employment cases involving employment contract disputes and post-employment restrictive covenants governing trade secrets, competition, solicitation of customers and employees, and disparagement, as well as issues relating to equity ownership and intellectual property rights.
